Trigirl Sports was founded in 2006 by Jana Landry and Carrie Godfrey to promote triathlon and running for women.  The Mother's Day triathlon has been a local favorite since 2008 and Rungirl 13.1 since 2010.  Both events bring hundreds of ladies to the sports.  We find true pleasure and satisfaction in watching women cross that finish line with tears in their eyes as they are overwhelmed by their accomplishment.  It is very humbling to know we played some little part in that.

Carrie Godfrey
I ran 1 year of track in High School and hated it.  I really began to love running later in life when my family started planning to meet up at races all over the country.  The running quickly turned into triathlons when I watched my husband compete and thought, "I can do that!"  I completed my first half Ironman distance triathlon in 2005.  In 2006, I competed in the Redman Ironman distance race.  I was so proud of myself when I became an Ironman.  It is my one and only tattoo.  It reminds me of what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it.  I have  finished 4 Ironman events total.  I began race directing to bring a special kind of race to women and to promote two sports that I love.  I am very proud of the races that we put on.  We take great pride in offering good, quality, safe races for our participants...and we have such fun picking out all the swag!
